Excellent book! The author is evidently a seasoned and experienced business advisor and provides a great deal of accumulated wisdom in this informative and well written book. An excellent book for anyone looking to build value in a business enterprise. While the book is primarily focussed on how to exit a business, there is a clear outline of how best to develop the business in advance of selling in order to realize the best value from the enterprise. As such, the book is much more than simply a guideline for how to sell out; it is a guideline for how to manage a business to realize its value.

This book is required reading for anyone interested in understanding how to most effectively approach the transfer of ownership in a company and to craft a successful transition for both shareholders and firm.

The author leverages his decades of international experience in helping owners at this stage of their life and career to think through all of the issues involved.  It is rich in examples and in practical advice on how to maximize transaction proceeds and crystallize value.

Dante Roscini, Professor, Harvard Business School,

Former Head of Global Equity Capital Markets, Merrill Lynch

I have always had a strong admiration for business builders, those “unsung heroes of society”.   From the perspective of someone who has spent years of his life buying businesses,  the preparation and methodology  recommended by Nemethy on how to prepare and execute an ownership transition would help most business owners improve the chances of a positive and timely outcome, while achieving their corporate and personal objectives.  Nemethy proposes a structured approach—crisp, clear and logical actions steps --  a powerful recipe for success.

This book is a must read for every business owner and should become an integral part of any management degree.  It helps prepare business owners for what ultimately should be the most profitable transaction of their lives—the exit from their business. With his vast experience on the subject, Nemethy breaks down this complex process into logical easy-to-follow steps, illustrated by useful mini case studies.

Les Nemethy's BUSINESS EXIT PLANNING is a page turner for this reader. In the course of my work as a trial attorney with emphasis on business valuation, I have found Mr. Nemethy's concise, easily understood and elegantly simple explanations of complex principles to be a valuable arrow in my quiver of persuasion. BUSINESS EXIT PLANNING, a must-read for legal and financial professionals, is a five star homerun.

This book uses powerful examples and practical insights in order to make the different exit possibilities understandable to non-financial specialists. Business Exit Planning is a must read book for owners who wish to prepare a successful business exit. This book will help them to consider each potential exit option without boring its reader with too much technical details. It is really dedicated to business owners and can be the cornerstone of a successful business exit.
